JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Two people are dead and one is in critical condition after a crash near the I-95 exit at Emerson Street Sunday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
At approximately 1:45 a.m. Sunday, a Jeep Cherokee Laredo was heading north on the I-95 exit ramp at Emerson Street, when the vehicle crossed the outside shoulder of the ramp and overturned into a tree line, according to FHP.
A 25-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman were both killed in the crash, FHP says.
A 19-year-old passenger was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
None of the passengers were wearing seatbelts, according to FHP.
An investigation into what led up to the crash is ongoing.
