Update: Northbound lanes on I-95 at University Boulevard reopened after crash caused them to close

Drivers are encouraged to seek alternative routes as heavy delays are expected due to the crash Tuesday morning.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — UPDATE: The lanes have reopened and traffic is now flowing.

The two right northbound lanes on Interstate 95 at University Boulevard in Jacksonville are closed Tuesday morning due to a crash, according to the Florida Department of Transportation.

As a result of the crash, traffic is backed up near Baymeadows Road, as drivers are encouraged to seek alternative routes.

Drivers traveling south on the interstate in the area are experiencing delays as well, but no lanes have closed, according to FDOT.

Officials were seen using a leaf blower on the interstate around 7:35 a.m.
