JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — UPDATE: The two northbound lanes on I-95 at Union Street that were closed for several hours Friday morning due to a multi-vehicle crash have reopened, FDOT's traffic cameras show.
A multi-vehicle crash on I-95 at Union Street in Jacksonville Friday morning has caused two northbound lanes on the interstate in the area to close, according to the Florida Department of Transportation.
FDOT says the northbound lanes that are shut down are the two right lanes. As a result, authorities have closed the off-ramp onto Kings Road.
A fatality has been reported from the crash, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area and seek alternative routes if possible, as traffic is currently backed up near the I-95/I-10 interchange.
