FHP: 77-year-old woman killed in crash on Butler Blvd.

The Florida Highway Patrol responded to two separate crashes on J. Turner Butler Boulevard Sunday night.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — An elderly woman is dead after a crash on J.Turner Butler Boulevard Sunday night.

The Florida Highway Patrol responded to two separate crashes involving multiple vehicles on Sunday.

FHP said the first crash happened around 6:30 p.m. on Butler Blvd. and San Pablo Road. Authorities reported one fatality from this crash and all eastbound lanes were blocked for hours. 

The deceased person has been identified as a 77-year-old woman from Ponte Vedra Beach.

According to the FHP crash report, the vehicle was traveling eastbound on Butler Blvd. when the driver left the road and collided with the concrete barrier wall along the left shoulder. 

After the crash, the vehicle became disabled and another car rear-ended the vehicle, the report said.

The second crash happened around 7:50 p.m. at Bulter Blvd. and Southside Boulevard.

Authorities said the crash temporarily shut down the JTB westbound exit ramp to Southside Blvd.
