JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A Jacksonville woman is dead after a multi-vehicle crash on Arlington Expressway Wednesday evening, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

An FHP crash report states around 5:50 p.m., a motorcyclist was traveling west in the outside lane of Arlington Expressway "at a high rate of speed" and "failed to safely negotiate a curve in the roadway" and crashed into a pickup truck traveling in the inside lane.

The motorcyclist then crashed into the concrete median barrier and traveled over the median into the eastbound lanes where she collided with three other vehicles.

The 35-year-old Jacksonville woman riding the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene.

No one else was hurt in the crash, according to FHP.

This marks at least the 16th motorcyclist killed in a crash in Duval County this year.

FHP is still investigating the crash.
