VILANO BEACH, Fla. — Multiple people were injured during a crash on the Vilano Bridge Sunday evening, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash happened at approximately 5:10 p.m.
FHP said a vehicle was traveling eastbound on the Vilano Bridge and crashed into the back of another car that was stopped in traffic.
The vehicle then lost control continuing eastbound and collided with three other cars.
The driver that crashed into the four cars was transported to Flagler Hospital in St. Augustine and one of the other drivers was transported to Orange Park Medical Center, FHP said.
Authorities reported delays in the area and that the bridge was shut down due to the accident.
The investigation remains active and open at this time.
