TAMPA, Fla. — The toll suspension in place across Florida for Hurricane Milton has been extended.
Gov. Ron DeSantis first suspended tolls on Oct. 7 to help Floridians "quickly and safely evacuate" ahead of the then-Category 5 storm. While these suspensions typically last a week, the order was extended on Monday, Oct. 14.
That means people driving on highways in West and Central Florida will not have to pay tolls until they are reinstated by the governor.
The Florida Department of Transportation did not specify what day the suspension will end.
