Three people are dead after a head-on collision in Bradford County early Tuesday at State Road 100 and SE 109th Street (Meng Dairy Road). Among the deceased are a mother and her 16-year-old son.
Bradford County sheriff's deputies at the scene said the wreck, which occurred at about 7 a.m., is one of the worst crashes they've ever seen.
The Florida Highway Patrol says that Kevin Booth, 53, was driving in a Ford F150 along SR-100 headed westbound at the same time that Laura Wilbert, 35, and Christian Okrasinski, 16, were traveling in a Ford Fiesta heading eastbound.
Troopers say the two vehicles collided head-on and that everyone involved died.
According to a witness tells First Coast News that the truck was attempting to pass a slower moving vehicle on SR-100.
This is the second crash in the same area in less than 12 hours.
