JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — At least one person is injured after a crash involving a semi-truck shut down part of I-295 in Jacksonville overnight.
The crash happened at around 1 a.m. Saturday morning on I-295 W. North near mile marker 44 on Jacksonville's Northside.
The semi-truck caught fire, which spread to the cab. The crash shut down I-295 in the area for several hours as crews worked to safely clear the scene. It has since reopened.
The Florida Highway Patrol reported there were injuries, but it is unclear how many people were injured or the extent of their injuries.
First Coast News has not confirmed the cause of the crash.
Neighbors who lived off of the highway gathered outside to see the orange glow coming from the fire.
