Pedestrian struck by multiple vehicles in fatal Trout River Bridge crash

The person was possibly struck by a white semi-truck that left the scene, FHP says.

A pedestrian has died after being hit by multiple vehicles in a crash on the Trout River Bridge Monday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers say the crash happened on Interstate 95 at Heckscher Drive around 5:20 a.m.  The pedestrian was in the northbound lanes of Interstate 95 when they were struck by three vehicles and possibly a white semi-truck that left the scene, FHP says.

The semi-truck is described as being white semi with a 53-foot enclosed trailer.

At this time, the identity of the pedestrian is not being released pending family notification of death.

If you have any information about this incident, call the Florida Highway Patrol at 904-301-3700.

All northbound lanes of I-95 were closed and traffic detoured to Edgewood Avenue for several hours. Those lanes are now open.
