FHP: Pedestrian killed after walking in southbound lanes of I-95

The 67-year-old woman killed was walking in the southbound lanes of I-95 when she was hit by a truck, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A 67-year-old woman is dead after she was hit by a vehicle traveling on Interstate 95 on Monday night, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash shut down all southbound lanes of I-95 for roughly four hours Monday night as troopers worked the scene. All lanes have since reopened. 

At approximately 8:38 p.m. Monday, a pickup truck was traveling south on I-95 north of Pecan Park Road, according to a crash report.  For an "unknown reason," the pedestrian was walking in the southbound lanes. 

The truck hit the pedestrian, killing her. 

The driver of the pickup truck was not injured.
