The Florida Highway Patrol said the 70-year-old pedestrian involved in the crash was airlifted to a Jacksonville hospital in critical condition.

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — A 70-year-old man is in critical condition after he was hit by a vehicle while walking on State Road A1A in St. Johns County Friday night, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

At approximately 6:25 p.m. Friday, the man crossed SR-A1A near Euclid Avenue and made it to the bike lane on the road shoulder, but was hit by an oncoming vehicle, FHP said.
