PALATKA, Fla. — An 89-year-old man died in a crash in Palatka Monday.
He was the passenger in an SUV involved in an accident on State Road 20 at Highlawn Avenue.
The driver of the SUV, a 45-year-old woman, was seriously injured. She was not wearing a seatbelt, according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol.
The driver of the other car involved, a pickup truck, was injured. The 30-year-old man had serious injuries, according to FHP.
The report says a 3-year-old boy and 7-year-old girl, who were also in the truck, were not injured.
According to FHP, the SUV made a left turn and crossed the path in front of the pickup truck. This caused the pickup truck to hit the passenger side of the SUV, killing the passenger.
The crash shut down Crill Avenue for hours Monday.
This incident will be investigated by FHP.
