19-year-old dead after motorcycle involved crash in Northwest Jacksonville

The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department says the crash happened at Dunn Avenue at New Kings Road sometime prior to 10:30 p.m.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A 19-year-old is dead following a crash involving a motorcycle in Northwest Jacksonville Monday night.

The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department says the crash happened at Dunn Avenue at New Kings Road sometime prior to 10:30 p.m. 

A traffic report says that a 19-year-old on a motorcycle was traveling driving northbound on SR-15 in the left lane while the car was traveling southbound on New Kings Road.

The car attempted to turn left onto Dunn Avenue and the motorcycle struck the car. 

JFRD says the car involved flipped and the motorcycle caught on fire. 

The driver was wearing a seatbelt and only suffered minor injuries. The motorcycle driver was wearing a helmet but died following the crash.
