JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Florida Department of Transportation is planning multiple closures throughout the I-95/I-295 North as improvement projects start Tuesday.
The closures are expected to last Tuesday through Thursday and redirect traffic for travelers taking I-95 South to U.S. 17.
Once the construction is finished, drivers will take I-295 Westbound to Duval Road and take I-295 Eastbound to the new collector distributor road to access U.S. 17.
This detour will remain in place until Feb. 2023.
The closures this week are as follows:
- I-95 southbound to close: I-95 southbound will close Tuesday, Jan. 2 and Wednesday, Jan. 3 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for overhead sign operations. Drivers will detour to Airport Road to U.S. 17 and take I-295 westbound to reconnect with I-95 southbound.
- I-95 southbound exit to I-295 eastbound to close: The I-95 southbound exit to I-295 eastbound will close Thursday, Jan. 4 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. while crews perform pavement striping operations. Drivers will detour west on I-295 to Duval Road and take I-295 eastbound collector distributor to connect with U.S 17.
- I-295 eastbound exit to U.S. 17 to close: The I-295 eastbound exit ramp will close Thursday, Jan. 4 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. while crews perform pavement striping operations. Drivers will detour to Pulaski Road and take I-295 westbound to connect with U.S. 17.
- U.S. 17 northbound to close: U.S. 17 northbound will close Thursday, Jan. 4 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. while crews perform pavement striping operations. Drivers will detour to Busch Drive to I-95 northbound and take Airport Road to reconnect with U.S. 17.
- U.S. 17 ramp to I-295 westbound to close: The U.S. 17 ramp to I-295 westbound will close Thursday, Jan. 4 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. while crews perform pavement striping operations. Drivers will detour to I-295 eastbound and take the Pulaski Road exit to connect with I-295 westbound.
