JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A crash Tuesday morning left all northbound lanes of Interstate 295 closed, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
At approximately 5:25 a.m. a UPS semi-truck was traveling north on I-295 when the driver became distracted and lost control of the vehicle.
The semi ran off the roadway and into the outside shoulder, crashing into an abandoned vehicle on the side of the road, according to FHP.
After crashing into the abandoned vehicle, the front of the semi crashed into a guard rail causing the trailer to fall down into the embankment and overturn, FHP says.
According to Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department, there was also a fuel spill at the wreck site.
