BAKER COUNTY, Fla. — A man died Thursday morning in a crash that backed up traffic for hours along the westbound lanes of Interstate 10 in Baker County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The FHP crash report states that at 4:02 a.m., the driver of a semi-truck, who is an unidentified man from Valdosta, Georgia, rear-ended the other man's SUV and struck him as he was standing outside his vehicle on the outside travel lane on I-10.

The SUV was "disabled" in the outside travel lane of I-10 westbound and the SUV and semi-truck came to final rest on the north shoulder of I-10, the report states.

The man who was driving the SUV was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. FHP says identification on him "is still pending."
