JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man is dead after being hit by a vehicle in the Arlington area Thursday evening, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office .
Police say the incident happened on Atlantic Boulevard near Caravan Trail around 9:30 p.m.
JSO says a man in his 30s, who appeared to be impaired, was sitting in the middle pf Atlantic Boulevard. Police say two vehicle managed to swerve around him to avoid hitting him, however, a third car did strike him.
Police say that the car left the scene.
The man was later pronounced dead by JFRD.
