JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — An over-extended dump truck bed struck an Interstate 95 overpass near Airport Road Tuesday afternoon, cracking the structure and prompting road closures in the area as crews worked to repair the damage, a Florida Highway Patrol crash report states.
The truck and a sedan were traveling west on Max Leggett Parkway around 3:30 p.m. when the truck's dump bed, which was "extended higher than the allotted clearance," struck the overpass above.
Debris fell from the overpass, hitting the sedan's roof and causing minor injuries to the 29-year-old Jacksonville woman driving.
The crash at one point shut down all northbound lanes of traffic on the interstate. The Airport Road exit ramp from I-95 North and the two right lanes of the interstate remain shut down Tuesday night as crews work to repair the damage.
The 38-year-old man driving the truck was not hurt in the crash.
