JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — One person is in critical condition after crash their car into a utility pole Sunday morning on Roosevelt Boulevard and Plymouth Street.
The driver was heading south sometime before 5:30 a.m. on Roosevelt Boulevard and collided with a concrete utility pole, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
When first responders arrived at the crash just before 5:30 a.m., they found the driver was trapped inside their vehicle. Firefighters helped to extricate the victim from the vehicle, according to the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department.
First responders took the person to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Crews closed Roosevelt Boulevard as they worked to clear the scene. It has since reopened.
The crash remains under investigation.
