JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — One person is dead after a crash Wednesday afternoon at about 3:34 p.m. on I-95 at the Emerson Street exit.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a pickup truck was traveling north on I-95 near Emerson Street as inclement weather moved into the area. FHP said the driver of the vehicle, identified as a 36-year-old man, lost control of the pickup and veered off the road onto the outside shoulder while rotating.
The truck continued down an embankment through the Emerson Street entrance ramp onto I-95 before it overturned. The truck overturned and hit a tree before coming to a rest in a grassy area on the driver's side.
The driver of the pickup truck was later pronounced dead.
There were no other vehicles involved in crash, and there were no other reported injuries.
