JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Five people have been taken to the hospital and one person is dead after a crash on I-295 South near the Roosevelt exit in Jacksonville.
The Florida Highway Patrol says that a driver made an "improper lane change" on I-295 and hit an SUV that was stopped in the right lane. The SUV spun and hit another car that was stopped in the lane. The SUV then overturned and hit the guard rail.
According to FHP, a 72-year old man traveling in the SUV died. A one-year-old was seriously injured, as well as a person whose age was marked as 'unknown' in the FHP report. A 4-year-old passenger had minor injuries.
The driver who hit the SUV initially was uninjured, and the driver of the car the SUV hit had minor injuries.
