JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — One person is dead, and two others are critically injured after a crash in North Jacksonville Thursday afternoon, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
Around 2:20 p.m., officers say a full-size SUV was traveling northbound on Yellow Bluff Road. For unknown reasons, police say the SUV left the road and began to overturn.
Police say all three adult male occupants were ejected from the SUV. One of the occupants died at the scene, says JSO.
The other two occupants were rushed to local hospitals with life-threatening injuries. Police are trying to determine who was driving the vehicle at the time of the crash.
This marks the 9th traffic fatality in Duval County this year.
Yellow Bluff Road is only open to local traffic from Starratt Road to Hidden Creek Dr. It is completely closed from Hidden Creek Dr. to Marshland Dr. for another couple of hours.
