A 49-year-old Jacksonville man died and a 51-year-old Ponte Vedra Beach woman is in critical condition at an area hospital following a single-vehicle crash that occurred on Friday, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
Howard W. Savage II, 49, died Friday and Lisa M. Love, 51, was critically injured after the two were involved in a crash on SR-24 near Otter Creek.
The vehicle was eastbound on SR-24 when the vehicle left the roadway for currently unknown reasons and struck a tree, FHP reports.
The driver, Love, was pulled from the vehicle and transported to UF Health. The passenger, Savage, died at the scene.
