JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Two Florida Highway Patrol troopers and the suspect involved were injured during a police pursuit through Jacksonville Wednesday night.
A 42-year-old Weeki Wachee woman suspected of DUI in St. Johns County had fled and was pursued by FHP after crossing the Duval County line. FHP was able to successfully perform a PIT maneuver on I-95 near Atlantic Boulevard and stop the woman. The crash which happened at 7:48 p.m., according to an FHP news release, shut down two lanes on I-95 for two hours.
According to FHP, the woman's vehicle hit a Hyundai Santa Fe. No one in that car was injured. Two other FHP vehicles were damaged.
The two FHP troopers involved and suspect had "minor" injuries, as they were taken to UF Health of Jacksonville, the release states.
The woman has been charged with reckless driving, DUI, aggravated fleeing and alluding, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a stolen firearm.
FHP says the woman also is facing charges from a felony warrant out of Citrus County.
