JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A pedestrian was hit and killed Saturday night on Normandy Boulevard in Jacksonville, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Around 11:46 p.m., a silver Chevrolet Equinox was heading west in the left lane of Normandy Boulevard near Blair Road.
At the same time, a man had stepped from a grass median into the left westbound lane of Normandy Boulevard.
FHP said the man was in the lane directly in front of the SUV and was struck.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, according to FHP.
The 52-year-old man driving was not hurt.
This marks the 10th pedestrian killed in Duval County this year.
