FHP: 81-year-old pedestrian walking in crosswalk struck, killed on US-1 in Flagler County

The crash happened around 3:35 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of US-1 and Royal Palms Parkway, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. — A man is dead after a crash on US-1 in Flagler County early Saturday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

A crash report states around 3:35 a.m., a sedan was traveling north on US-1 nearing the intersection of Royal Palms Parkway. 

As the sedan approached the intersection, an 81-year-old Palm Coast man began walking east across US-1 in the area of a marked crosswalk from Education Way.

The sedan struck the pedestrian as he was crossing the road, the report said.

The pedestrian died from his injuries, according to FHP. The 20-year-old Daytona Beach man driving the sedan had minor injuries after the crash.
