New express toll lanes along Interstate-295 through the heart of Mandarin will open in just a matter of days, according to the Florida Department of Transportation on Tuesday.
FDOT crews are testing the route and work is still being completed, FDOT says.
FDOT has not announced an exactly when the toll lanes will be open, however, a spokesperson told First Coast News that information will be available soon.
The $89 million project will install express lanes between I-95 and the Buckman Bridge along I-295. There will be two northbound and two southbound express lanes, and three free-of-charge general use lanes on each route.
Drivers must have a SunPass to use the express lanes.
