JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office reported a fatal accident in a neighborhood off of Kernan Boulevard South at 6:30 p.m. Friday.
JSO said the motorcycle was traveling east on Mathew Unger Drive and the SUV was traveling west on the same road.
The SUV attempted a left-hand turn onto Casheros Cove in front of the motorcycle and the two collided, JSO said. The motorcyclist was thrown into a neighbor's yard.
He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the SUV, a 60-year-old woman, is cooperating with police. Sgt. Hungerford with JSO says it is too early to determine if there will be charges in this case.
Both roads were closed in all directions Friday night.
