JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Two people were killed and others were injured in a crash on Beach Boulevard Thursday night, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash happened at 7:25 p.m. at the intersection with Washburn Road, the Jacksonville Fire & Rescue Department told First Coast News.
According to FHP's crash report, a Nissan Frontier was traveling eastbound on Beach Boulevard, approaching Washburn Road at the same time that a black Honda CBR motorcycle and a black Suzuki motorcycle were traveling westbound on Beach.
The report states collision happened when the Nissan Frontier "initiated a left turn in the path of the two motorcycles," thus causing both motorcycles to collide into the pickup truck.
The motorcyclists, who were both 25-year-old men, were pronounced dead, while the driver of the Nissan, a 44-year-old man from Jacksonville Beach, was seriously injured, according to FHP. Additionally, a 29-year-old man from Jacksonville Beach who was a passenger in the Nissan, suffered "critical" injuries in the crash, the report mentions.
