All lanes of Mathews Bridge reopen following earlier crash

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said one eastbound lane of the Mathews Bridge was shut down until Tuesday afternoon, but has since reopened.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — All lanes of the Mathews Bridge in Downtown Jacksonville have now reopened, after one lane was closed earlier Tuesday afternoon due to a crash.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said one eastbound lane of the bridge was shut down near Liberty Street just before 2 p.m. As of 3 o'clock, traffic was moving smoothly through the area again.

JSO did not say what caused the crash or whether any injuries occurred.
