JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A deadly crash Sunday afternoon in Jacksonville's Southpoint area marks the 154th traffic fatality in Duval County this year.
According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, a pickup truck was driving southbound in the 6600 block of Southpoint Parkway at 12:27 p.m., when the vehicle left the roadway, and crashed into a tree.
Jacksonville Fire and Rescue crews pronounced the driver dead at the scene.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash and there were no other passengers in the truck.
Police said Southpoint Parkway will be shut down while crews investigate and clear the wreck.
