The northbound and southbound lanes of I-75 and the westbound lanes of I-10 are closed due to a crash at the I-75/I-10 interchange in Columbia County.
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is on the scene assessing damage left by a tractor-trailer.
The Florida Highway Patrol says the tractor-trailer was traveling west on I-10 in the right lane. As it was approaching the I-75 interchange, the driver attempted to avoid an oncoming vehicle and in doing so, a piece of machinery on its trailer fell off. and rolled down the interstate. The incident caused a lot of damage to the roadway and overpass.
As of 9:28 p.m., all lanes are back open.
DETOURS (per FDOT):
- I-75 northbound is open to Interstate 10, and motorists will be detoured to I-10, east to U.S. 41, north to State Road 136, and then back onto I-75.
- I-75 southbound is open to U.S. 129 and detoured back to I-10, and then motorists can go east on I-10 back to I-75.
- I-10 westbound motorists will exit at I-75 northbound to State Road 136 and then back to westbound Interstate 10.
