JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A woman was shot in the arm while driving on the Westside Sunday afternoon, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
Around 11:30 a.m., police say they responded to a person shot in the area of Blanding Boulevard Northbound near I-295.
Upon arrival, they found a woman with a gunshot wound to her arm and multiple shell casings. She was taken to a nearby hospital in non-life-threatening condition.
Police say several 911 callers in the area reported seeing a person in another vehicle firing at the woman.
JSO says that a subject was taken into custody at a nearby home and is currently being questioned. Police believe this was not a random incident and the two people knew each other.
The incident caused major traffic delays in the area, however, lanes should now be open.
