COLUMBIA COUNTY, Fla. — A person is dead after the vehicle he was driving struck a tree at about 6:10 a.m. Thursday on County Road 240, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release. The 37-year-old Auburndale man was driving a 1999 F350 eastbound on CR240 approaching CR245. FHP said it's unknown why the driver drove across CR 245 onto the eastbound shoulder where the front of his vehicle struck a tree, the news release states. The driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene, the news release states.
Driver killed in Columbia County wreck
