JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A fatal crash shut down traffic on San Jose Boulevard Friday.
The northbound side had all lanes closed and traffic was backed up for miles. The southbound side had one lane blocked.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office says that the crash happened at San Jose Boulevard and Venture Place.
A white Dodge was traveling west on Venture Place making a left turn at the light. When it entered the intersection, it was struck on the driver's side by a black Genesis traveling northbound on San Jose Boulevard.
The driver of the white Dodge was taken to an area hospital where they were pronounced deceased.
JSO says it was the tenth traffic fatality in Duval County this year.
