2 motorcyclists killed doing stunts in North Jacksonville parking lot, JSO says

JSO says a group of motorcyclists was doing stunts in a warehouse parking lot when two of the motorcyclists collided, killing them both.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Two motorcyclists were killed in a crash after doing stunts in a parking lot in North Jacksonville Sunday night, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Police said the crash happened around 8:20 p.m. Sunday in the parking lot of the warehouse at 10501 Cold Storage Rd. A group of at least six motorcyclists was doing stunts when two of the riders were driving toward each other and collided, JSO said.

Each rider was knocked off the motorcycle, and both of them died at the scene, police said. Investigators are still working to determine if a helmet that was found in the area was in use at the time of the crash.

The crash marks the 46th and 47th traffic deaths so far in 2022. The deaths are the 10th and 11th motorcycle deaths of the year, JSO said.

The crash happened on private property and did not affect traffic in the area. Police said there were numerous tire marks in the parking lot, but it is not clear if they were all from Sunday night or if it is an ongoing issue.
