JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — One driver is dead and another was injured after a crash Sunday morning on the Main Street Bridge.
According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, a silver Kia was crossing the bridge going north when it cross into the wrong lane and hit an oncoming black Inifinity head-on.
One of the drivers had to be extricated from the vehicle, JFRD said.
First responders took both drivers to the hospital in ciritcal condition. The driver of the Kia was pronounced dead while the driver of the Infinity has critical but non-life-threatening injuries.
The bridge was closed while crews worked to extricate the trapped driver and later clear the scene. The bridge has since been reopened to traffic.
