CLAY COUNTY, Fla — A man is dead and several people are injured after a multi-vehicle crash on Blanding Boulevard Saturday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

An FHP report states around 11:15 a.m., a pickup truck was southbound on Blanding Boulevard near County Road 352 when the vehicle made a left turn in the direct path of a sedan heading northbound.

At the same time, a van was stopped in the parking lot of a gas station, waiting to turn onto Blanding Boulevard.

The sedan crashed into the pickup truck and then into the van, FHP said.

The 31-year-old St. Augustine man in the passenger seat of the sedan was taken to UF Shands Gainesville where he was pronounced dead. The crash report said the man was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

FHP said eight other people, including three children, were hurt in the crash. None of the children were wearing seatbelts or child restraints, according to FHP.

The crash report said their injuries were minor.
