CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. — The third Axiom Mission, a 'Space tourism' trip to the International Space Station, launched from Cape Canaveral at 4:49 p.m Thursday.
The mission is carrying four 'private astronauts,' who paid Axiom a non-disclosed fee to get onto the rocket.
The crew will arrive at 5:15 a.m. Saturday. Axiom missions offer a variety of opportunities, and NASA says the four aboard this flight will spend two weeks conducting science and research in microgravity.
The Expedition 70 crew is currently aboard the ISS, working to research space botany, seeking to figure out how to support plant growth and food production on space missions.
