JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — As food prices have soared over the past few years, many people have started at-home gardens. But, is your soil good enough for planting crops?
On Aug. 26, White Harvest Farms, an initiative of Clara White Mission in Jacksonville, will host a soil fertility workshop where you can learn from experts in the field of soil fertility at 4850 Moncrief Rd. The workshop will take place from noon to 2 p.m.
Participants in the workshop will learn about the risks associated with soil nutrient imbalance as well as learn ways to produce more sufficient, safe and nourishing food.
On Saturday, Allen Skinner of Soil Life Organics and Michelle Maule with White Harvest Farms, joined Good Morning Jacksonville to discuss the event and to lead a demonstration on soil quality.
