Fire crews respond to 2.5 acre brush fire in St. Augustine

First responders say they do not know the cause of what started the brush fire Monday night, but that no homes were harmed in the area.

Brush fire occurred near the 6100 block of Datil Pepper Road in St. Augustine.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Members of St. Johns County Fire Rescue and Florida Forest Service responded to a brush fire that occurred in the area of the 6100 block of Datil Pepper Road Monday night, according to a Facebook post by SJCFR.

First responders report they have not determined a cause as to what started the 2.5 acre brush fire, but that it is contained and no homes were threatened.

As of 9:55 p.m., FFS officials are still on scene and are monitoring the area.
