JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The video attached to this story is from a previous, related story.
The decision has been made: Trevor Lawrence will not play on Sunday as the Jaguars face the Panthers.
Lawrence sustained an injury to his right shoulder during the Jags' loss to the Buccaneers last weekend. For the fourth time this season, he was questionable to play.
With each of his previous injuries (a sprained knee, sprained ankle and a concussion), Lawrence rallied and was back on the field.
This will only be the third game he has ever missed -- two were in college, due to COVID. He has never missed an NFL start.
Lawrence did not practice this week and was officially listed as "out" on Friday's injury report. He did attend practice on Thursday but was on the sideline.
That means backup quarterback CJ Beathard will start Sunday, when the Jaguars will take on the Panthers at home at EverBank Stadium.
