JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Jacksonville Suns begin their quest to defend their 2014 Southern League Championship, Thursday, as the host the Jackson Generals at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville.
2015 will be a year of transition for the Suns. For the first time in four seasons the team has a new manager in David Berg. The team will also come under new ownership following the season in September, as current and longtime owner, Peter "Pedro" Bragan Jr. is selling the team to Ken Babby. The 2015 season is being called "Pedro's Last Dance."
The Suns open the season with an unheard of 20 consecutive games at home on Bragan Field, starting with a five-game series against the Generals beginning Thursday. Right-handed pitcher, Trevor Williams, gets the opening-day start for the third straight year.
First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
