Professional Bull Riders back in Jacksonville after 3 years

PBR hosts its 8th event in Jacksonville.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Professional Bull Riders (PBR) returned to Jacksonville after a three-year hiatus for its eighth event in the First Coast.

The two-day Unleash the Beast event at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena featured 40 of the best bull riders in the world going head-to-head against the sport's top athletes while taking on their toughest opponent: the bull.

Fans loved the event, and first-timers hope it returns on a yearly basis.

"Honestly, man, I think it should be an every-year thing. I think they should always come back because PBR's the best," said Jacksonville resident Dewayne Smith.

For the young ones in attendance, it was an eye-opening experience.

"It's fun and very interesting. The bulls jumping that high. When they come out the chutes, they come out hard and fast. It's nice," said Jacob North.

Others came out just to enjoy a weekend outing.

"It's super fun getting with everybody. Everyone's kind of on the same page. Everyone's chilling, vibing, and having an awesome time out here. And, it's just fun to get out here with a lot of like-minded people," said Jared Kampmeyer.

"It is great music, great entertainment, great people watching, and total money's worth," said Janet Jeffrey.

Teenage phenom John Crimber claimed his first-ever PBR Unleash the Beast event win courtesy of earning a walk-off monstrous 90-point ride.
