ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — The video attached to this story is from our previous interview with Brandon Lyons in 2021.

Hard work and perseverance has paid off for Brandon Lyons of St. Johns County. He's earned his spot on Team USA's 2024 Paralympic Cycling Team and will compete in Paris.

"It’s an honor and a privilege to represent my country in Paris this summer at the Paralympics! I’d like to thank the First Coast for their continued support and welcoming me with open arms when I moved here in 2020," Lyons said. "Here’s to gold!"

In 2020, First Coast News profiled Lyons who became the first handcylist to live full time at the Colorado Springs Olympic & Paralympic Training Center. You can watch that interview in this story or by clicking below.
