JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Before the 2021 Tokyo games we introduced you to the average guy doing the Olympics.
It all began with an attempt at the 50 meter splash and dash swim.
Well, we’re doing it all over again under the guidance of the head of aquatics and coach at Bolles School in Jacksonville, Peter Verhoef.
There will also be the added challenge of going up against Katie Ledecky.
"Her body of work is nothing short of incredible," Verhoef said.
Ledecky swims long races. She has already won bronze in the 400 meter freestyle and will be a favorite to medal in the 800 meter. She'll be the hands down favorite to win gold in the 1500 meter freestyle race and it most likely won't even be close.
Her consistency and strength with each 50 meter lap, there are 30 laps in the 1500, is what makes her such a force.
So, in the video above, Lewis puts his very best 50 meter lap against Ledecky's worst 50 meter split from her world record 1500 meter race.
