JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Jaguars hosting division rival, the Houston Texans at the Bank for week 13.
Trevor Lawrence was back at the starting quarterback position after being limited at practice with a shoulder injury.
The Jaguars were the receiving team of the opening punt. In their first drive, the Jaguars went three and out. In order, the Jaguars are able to force the Texans three and out too.
This was the same story the entire first quarter as the Jaguars and Texans stayed scoreless.
At the start of the second quarter, the Jaguars force the Texans to settle for the field goal. Ka'imi Fairbairn hits the 53-yard field goal. This would give the Texans the first lead of the day at 3-0.
In the Jaguars' first drive after the Texans field goal, Trevor Lawrence tried connecting with Brian Thomas Jr. but underthrew the ball. Lawrence was picked off by Derek Stingley Jr.
The Texans hit another field goal with less than seven minutes left in the first half. Fairbairn hit the 3-yard field goal.
In the second quarter, with six minutes left, Trevor Lawrence was hit hard as he was trying to slide. Texans Azeez Al-Shaair was the player who hit Trevor. After this, Jaguars tight end, Evan Engram immediately pushed Al-Shaair to the ground. After this, both teams got chippy.
Al-Shaair and Jaguars Jarran Jones were ejected from the game. As Al-Shaair was walking off the field, he walked towards the Jaguars' side first and got in the face of Brandon Scherff.
Trevor Lawrence was carted off the field. Mac Jones took over the quarterback position.
The Jaguars ruled Lawrence out with a concussion.
With 12 seconds left in the first half, the Jaguars are held to a field goal. Cam Little hit a 33-yard field goal. This cut the lead in half. The Texans still lead, 6-3.
The Jaguars were able to tie things up in the third with another Cam Little field goal. With 10 minutes left in the third, the Jaguars and Texans are tied, 6-6.
The Texans got their offense to come alive in the third quarter. Houston's Joe Mixon was able to cut through the Jaguars defense and score a touchdown. The Texans are up again, 13-6.
Before the end of the third quarter, the Texans managed to nail another field goal. Fairbairn is behind the kick. The Texans are still up, 16-6.
At the end of the third quarter, the Texans stay in the lead, 16-6.
Cam Little attempted a 55-yard field goal but missed. The Texans still lead, 16-6.
In the fourth, the Texans bamboozled the Jaguars defense as C.J. Stroud hit Dalton Schultz in the endzone. Schultz was all by himself. Not one defender on him. This isn't the first time of this game when the defense blows coverage this bad. The Texans still in the lead, 23-6.
In an attempt to bounce back, Jaguars' Mac Jones connected with Parker Washington for the touchdown. The Jaguars are still down, 23-12.
In the last minutes of the fourth, Jones connects with Thomas Jr. for a touchdown, bringing the score to 23-18. The Jaguars go for two, and Jones connects with Washington to bring the score to 23-20 with only three minutes left in the game.
The Texans get the ball back and keep it to end the game. The Texans win this one, holding off the Jaguars to 23-20.
