JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jaguars were the receiving team on the opening kickoff. In Jacksonville's first drive, quarterback Trevor Lawrence was sacked on a third and long.
The 49ers came hungry.
In San Francisco's first drive of the day, Brandon Aiyuk caught a pass in the endzone, touchdown, 49ers. They were able to execute in four plays, 57 yards in only two minutes and seven seconds. The extra point was good. San Francisco is up, 7-0 and it was still the first quarter.
The Jaguars couldn't convert in their second drive either. Lawrence was sacked again, on third and long. They were yet to pick up a first down.
With four minutes left in the first quarter, the Jaguars defense held the 49ers to a field goal. San Francisco went on top still, 10-0.
With 2:45 left in the first quarter, the Jaguars picked up their first first down. Tim Jones would make the catch.
At the end of the first quarter, the 49ers held their lead, steady 10-0.
Lawrence got strip-sacked in the second quarter. The Jaguars struggled on offense while San Francisco, brought their best game.
San Francisco would go for the field goal on 4th and 13. Jake Moody attempted the 35-yard field goal and nailed it. The 49ers then widened the lead, as it was 13-3 at the half.
Back like they never left, San Francisco in their first drive of the third quarter, scored a touchdown. George Kittle was on the catch and go. The 49ers started to pull away, 20-3.
The Jaguars struggled the entire game on both sides of the ball. In the red zone, Christian Kirk fumbled the ball, giving it back to the 49ers.
With 1:20 left in the third, San Francisco's Deebo Samuel scored a touchdown. It took seven plays, 81 yards and 3:57 minutes for the 49ers to score that touchdown. By this time, it was 27-3, San Francisco.
While the Jaguars prepared for a competitive game, the 49ers capitalized on the Jaguars' mistakes. Which, there were a lot on offense.
