Jaguars owner Shad Khan reportedly downplayed comments previously made by President Donald Trump regarding players in the National Football League last year, according to a new media report.
The New York Times is reporting it has an audio recording of an owners and players meeting from October.
They were all together to talk about how both sides should respond to President Donald Trump taking shots at players and the league.
You’ll recall President Trump used coarse language to deride the players, suggested he’d fire anyone who knelt and said the commissioner had lost control of the league.
While some owners lamented the impact of the controversy on the league, Khan reportedly downplayed it.
According to NYT, Khan said, “all the damage Trump’s going to do, is done.”
First Coast News reached out to Khan’s personal spokesman, but he declined to respond. As did the Jaguars.
